Things Fall Apart

Devoid of Yesterday is an arts based collective specializing in the creation of personal short film projects consisting of friends Rob Chiu, Chris James Hewitt, and Ben Lukas Boysen. Their storytelling is superb and admirable considering they are removed from the world of commercialism of motion design, and focus on the art form of creating dark twisted narratives with flickers of hope that reflect the human nature of the artist.

"Full Circle"

Well, the film is finished and now i can go back to having a life. If you want to comment on it, click here. This is part of a John Woo mySpace film contest, voting begins on Monday, so I'll post a link later next week to the voting page. It's too bad I had to cut it down to 2:30 but after the film contest I'll post an extended/high-res directors cut...

Film Scene #4 Ending

Well, I just finished polishing up the last scene. We shot on Sunday and it's taken up to right now to finish all the editing, special effects, color correction, and adding all the sound. On Tuesday we're shooting parts 1-3, which is the back story to the end scene gun battle in scene #4. I'll send out a link next Friday when it's all wraped up!!

Check out some of the most unique visually stunning wallpaper I've seen in a long time over at Flavor Paper.

This is a wakeup call

Lee Summers, who is playing the lead in my latest film project is a very talented graphic designer and artist. He has a very unique blend of storytelling and visual intrigue to his work. Check out his portfolio!

'What's A Girl To Do?'

This is my new favorite music video of Bat For Lashes, directed by the talented Dougal Wilson.

Filmmaking is hard work

I apologize for not posting anything recently, but I have a very good excuse. This past Sunday I directed and shot a short action film at The Drunken Unicorn. The production consisted of 12 extras and 2 main characters, plus 20 Shotguns, Pistols, and Uzis.

Now comes adding the special effects, editing, composing the soundtrack, color correction, sfx, etc. The film has to be done in two weeks (a part of a John Woo film contest). I'll post a link when it's complete... otherwise I'll be missing in action and sleepless until it's done.
