THE CAPTAINS!

So last night I was cruising down the street listening to the 88.5 Nippon Japanese music show and out of no where comes this mind-blowing song, which I immediately called up the station to see who it was. Found out it was an advance preview of The Captains new album Bara no Ori, due for release in Japan on February 7th. Pick up this album if you can, and if you know if anywhere in the states I can purchase it please let me know!! Love these guys.

Codex Seraphinianus

Luigi Serafini, withdrew himself from the world for three years to write and illustrate the Codex Seraphinianus. Its peculiarity lies in the fact that no one is able to read it, since it's created in the style of the Voynich manuscript.

Much thanks goes out to flickr member Cottoncandyhammer who scanned his edition so we all could be lucky enough to view it online. VIEW SLIDESHOW or STATIC IMAGES

Aggressively Mediocre Mentally Challenged Fantasy Island (circle one)

Miguel Calderón is a Mexican artist, actor, and writer. His work titled "Aggressively Mediocre/Mentally Challenged/Fantasy Island (circle one)" was part of a 1998 exhibit and was bought by Wes Anderson for the film The Royal Tenenbaums. His work goes for about $12,000 a piece, but well worth it.

I was unable to find anything on the web about him other than this site. If you know of any other places to find his work, or upcoming exhibits, please comment!
